I searched the Internet for ranked lists of the best Morgan Freeman movies of all time. Criteria included the movies being ranked, not just listed by date or by streaming service, and generally created by groups, whether teams or committees or based on general public voting (like Ranker.com).

I was able to find 31 lists. I took the 31 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every film. I averaged the rankings each movie got and divided that average by a factor of the number of lists that movie was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.

The movies that were on the most lists (out of 31) were:

  • The Shawshank Redemption (1994) – 29 lists
  • Million Dollar Baby (2004) – 29 lists
  • Se7en (1995) – 29 lists
  • Driving Miss Daisy (1989) – 29 lists
  • Unforgiven (1992) – 27 lists
  • The Dark Knight (2008) – 26 lists
  • Invictus (2009) – 25 lists
