I searched the Internet for lists of the best or greatest movies of the 2010s. Criteria included the movies being ranked, not just listed, and generally created by groups, whether teams or committees or based on general public voting (like Ranker.com).

I was able to find 46 lists. I took the 46 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every film. I ended up averaging the rankings each movie got (there were 411 that were on at least 2 lists) and dividing that average by a factor of the number of lists that movie was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.

The movies that were on the most lists (out of 46) were:

  • Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) – 38 lists
  • Get Out (2017) – 36 lists
  • The Social Network (2010) – 34 lists
  • Moonlight (2016) – 32 lists
  • Boyhood (2014) – 28 lists
  • The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) – 28 lists
  • The Master (2012) – 27 lists
  • Parasite (2019) – 27 lists
  • Inception (2010) – 27 lists
  • Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) – 26 lists
  • 12 Years a Slave (2013) – 25 lists
  • The Tree of Life (2011) – 24 lists
  • Lady Bird (2017) – 24 lists
  • Whiplash (2014) – 23 lists
  • Call Me by Your Name (2017) – 23 lists
  • Roma (2018) – 23 lists
