I was able to find 42 lists. I took the 42 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every castle. I averaged the rankings each one got and dividing that average by a factor of the number of lists it was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.

The castles that were on the most lists (out of 42) were:

  • Neuschwanstein Castle (Schwangau, Germany) – 36 lists
  • Windsor Castle (England) – 27 lists
  • Edinburgh Castle (Scotland) – 23 lists
  • Chambord Castle (France) – 23 lists
  • Pena National Palace (Sintra, Portugal) – 20 lists
  • Bran Castle (Romania) – 20 lists
  • Himeji Castle (Japan) – 18 lists
  • Prague Castle (Czechia) – 18 lists
  • Mont Saint-Michel (Normandy, France) – 15 lists
  • Alcázar (Segovia, Spain) – 15 lists

Here are links to the lists I used along with dates the lists were created:
