I searched the Internet for lists of the best or greatest Valentine’s Day movies of all time. Criteria included the movies being ranked, not just listed, not limited to just NetFlix, and generally created by groups, whether teams or committees or based on general public voting (like Ranker.com).

I was able to find 31 lists. I took the 31 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every film. I averaged the rankings each movie got (there were 172 that were on at least 2 lists) and dividing that average by a factor of the number of lists that movie was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. Below are all the lists I found online, followed by the complete spreadsheet with all my data.

The movies that were on the most lists (out of 31) were:

  • The Notebook (2004) – 23 lists
  • When Harry Met Sally (1989) – 21 lists
  • Valentine’s Day (2010) – 19 lists
  • The Princess Bride (1987) – 19 lists
  • 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) – 19 lists
  • Titanic (1997) – 17 lists
  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) – 15 lists
  • Crazy Rich Asians (2018) – 15 lists

Here are links to the lists I used along with dates the lists were created:
