I was able to find 51 lists. I took the 51 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every zoo. I ended up averaging the rankings each one got and dividing that average by a factor of the number of lists it was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.

The zoos that were on the most lists (out of 51) were:

  • San Diego Zoo: San Diego, CA – 44 lists
  • Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium: Omaha, NE – 42 lists
  • Bronx Zoo: New York City, NY – 41 lists
  • Saint Louis Zoo: St. Louis, MO – 41 lists
  • Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden: Cincinnati, OH – 37 lists
  • Brookfield Zoo: Brookfield, IL – 35 lists
  • Columbus Zoo & Aquarium: Powell, OH – 33 lists
  • Smithsonian’s National Zoo: Washington, DC – 33 lists
  • Denver Zoo: Denver, CO – 30 lists

Here are links to the lists I used along with dates the lists were created:
