I searched the Internet for lists of the best episodes of The Office (US). Criteria included the episodes being ranked, not just listed, covering the entire run, not just lists of episodes featuring one actor or one holiday, and generally created by groups, whether teams or committees or based on general public voting (like Ranker.com).

I found 39 different ranked lists online of “best episodes of The Office.” Then I averaged the rankings each episode got and divided that average by a factor of the number of lists that episode was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.

The episodes that were on the most lists (out of 39):

  • Dinner Party (S04 E09) – 36 lists
  • Stress Relief (S05 E13) – 33 lists
  • The Injury (S02 E12) – 30 lists
  • The Dundies (S02 E01) – 29 lists
  • Casino Night (S02 E22) – 28 lists
  • Goodbye, Michael (S07 E21) – 25 lists
  • Beach Games (S03 E22) – 24 lists
  • Niagara: Part 2 (S06 E05) – 24 lists
  • Niagara: Part 1 (S06 E04) – 24 lists
  • Threat Level Midnight (S07 E16) – 24 lists
