I was able to find 24 lists online of “best fictional librarians.” They included movies, books, TV shows, and even comic books. I added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of each one. There were 39 that were on at least 2 lists. I averaged the rankings each one got and divided that average by a factor of the number of lists it was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.
The breakfast cereals that were on the most lists (out of 24) were:
- Rupert Giles – Buffy the Vampire Slayer – 20 lists
- Evelyn Carnahan O’Connell – The Mummy – 16 lists
- Barbara Gordon – Batman universe – 15 lists
- The Orangutan Librarian – Discworld Universe – 9 lists
- Marian the Librarian – The Music Man – 9 lists
