I was able to find 20 lists. I took the 20 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every robot. I averaged the rankings each one got and divided that average by a factor of the number of lists it was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.

The robots that were on the most lists (out of 20) were:

  • R2-D2 – Star Wars (1977) – 17 lists
  • C-3PO – Star Wars (1977) – 16 lists
  • T-800 – Terminator (1984) – 14 lists
  • WALL-E – WALL-E (2008) – 14 lists
  • The Iron Giant – The Iron Giant (1999) – 12 lists
  • Roy Batty – Blade Runner (1982) – 11 lists
  • Data – Star Trek: Generations (1994) – 11 lists
  • Optimus Prime – Transformers (2007) – 10 lists
  • Robby the Robot – Forbidden Planet (1956) – 10 lists
  • Johnny 5 – Short Circuit (1986) – 10 lists

Here are links to the lists I used along with dates the lists were created:
